I’ve been an active advocate on Arab American issues for the past few decades. My scholarly work in this area has garnered awards such as Best Practices from the American Counseling Association for my seminal article in Journal of Counseling & Development in 2003, Publication and Research from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision from the Association for Counselor Education and Supervision in 2008, and the Extended Research Award from the American Counseling Association. In 2014, I served as Michael G. Morris Endowed Chair at Eastern Michigan University's College of Education, where I conducted a study on Middle Eastern/North African (MENA) American youth in southeast Michigan. I’ve provided professional consultation and training in Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, and Qatar.
I frequently collaborate with scholar-colleagues across disciplines as well as with the Arab American Institute and the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services.
Please see my Curriculum Vitae for more information.
